THOMAS JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Jefferson Health and Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) are partners in providing excellent clinical and compassionate care for patients in the Philadelphia region.

Jefferson has various care locations across the region, including Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (the main hospital facility, which was established in 1825) and Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, both in Center City Philadelphia; Jefferson Methodist Hospital and Jefferson at the Navy Yard, both in South Philadelphia; and Jefferson at Voorhees in South Jersey.

As of November 2018, Jefferson Health, which features a total of more than 2,300 licensed beds and 30,000 employees, has been quite busy.

Jefferson has consistently received many major accolades, and this year, it continued its winning streak. It is named the 2018 Top Hospital for Diversity by BlackDoctor.org. It is also ranked among the best in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report. Plus, Jefferson physicians are named among the region’s best in Philadelphia magazine’s 2018 “Top Doctors” issue. Plus, Stephen K. Klasko, MD, MBA, President of Thomas Jefferson University and CEO of Jefferson Health, made Modern Healthcare’s list of 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare of 2017, and was named one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business in 2018 by Fast Company for his efforts in “making large-scale healthcare personal.” PIDC is very proud of the impact that Jefferson has made on the city.

PIDC administered RACP grants and tax exempt bonds to help finance the expansion of Jefferson. In addition, Jefferson occupies a space in 3 Crescent at the Navy Yard.
