From May 12-14, 2014, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and its cosponsors will welcome community development innovators and leaders to Philadelphia.
The theme of this years’ Reinventing Conference is Bridging Growth and Opportunity. The conference regularly attracts over 400 policymakers, practitioners, researchers, funders, and leaders in the nonprofit, bank, and government sectors. Topics include measuring the impact of revitalization and community development corporations; how to use data and market-based strategies to strengthen neighborhoods; changing demographics; tools to achieve greater equity; building community capacity; new home mortgage lending opportunities; and innovations in funding and financing.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend tours and activities that highlight redevelopment efforts in Philadelphia and Camden, NJ, participate various workshops as well as attend a lunch with city leaders while they share their insight on the key issues they face today and the opportunities they are embracing to attract new resources and expand opportunity for all residents.
Keynote Speakers include M. Night Shyamalan, celebrated director, screenwriter, filmmaker, and author of I Got Schooled, as well as Leigh Gallagher, renowned journalist, Fortune editor and author of The End of the Suburb: Where the American Dream is Moving.
