OCTOBER
International Economic Development Council Annual Conference
October 6-9, 2013 The International Economic Development Council’s 2013 Annual Conference will address obstacles facing economic developers, and existing trends in our dynamic economy. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend panel discussions led by PIDC’s President John Grady and Executive Vice President Sam Rhoads., as well as participate in a tour of The Navy Yard.

October 16, 2013 This event will explore the future of manufacturing in the Greater Philadelphia region on the heels of the much-anticipated report from the Manufacturing Task Force due this fall. This program will feature Councilman Bobby Henon, Co-chair of the Task Force, who will explore next steps for the city and region, followed by a panel discussion.

Lower Schuylkill Master Plan Real Estate Professionals Event
October 23, 2013 This event aims to focus on informing real estate professionals of the next phases of development for the Lower Schuylkill Master Plan and University of Pennsylvania’s Southbank Campus, and how they can be involved in the process.

October 16, 2013 Attendees will have an opportunity to get up-close and personal with PIDC’s President John Grady.
October 30, 2013 PIDC’s Ivy Olesh will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative, a $500 million initiative designed to help small businesses create jobs and economic growth by providing entrepreneurs with access to capital, a practical business education, and business support services.

Opportunity Finance Network Annual Conference
October 15-18, 2013 This year’s agenda promises to be the most exciting yet, with 13 tracks including more than 50 practitioner-driven training sessions, five community development finance tours, a CDFI client entrepreneur marketplace, the 2013 Wells Fargo NEXT Awards for Opportunity Finance, the Native CDFI Awards celebration, the Ned Gramlich Lifetime Achievement Award, and dozens of new networking options.
