On January 7, 2014, Green Woods Charter School held its ribbon cutting celebrating the grand opening of its three- story, 60,000 square-foot facility in Roxborough. Green Woods found itself in need of a larger space when its students had to be separated into two other schools in order to accommodate the children. The new school will be home to 465 students in grades K-8.
In 2012, the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development (PAID) approved the issuance of an $18.5 M tax exempt bond for the purchase of the site, and the construction, equipping and furnishing of the educational facility and campus amenities. The

Technology Lab
project broke ground that same year and began working on design features such as a media center, technology lab, pond with a deck, and floor to ceiling windows.
