This month, we introduce you to Marc Coleman and The Tactile Group. Marc is the founder and president of The Tactile Group, LLC. Trained in electrical engineering from Princeton University and architecture from Temple University, he has over twenty years of experience in creative direction, design, business entrepreneurship, and client relations. The Tactile Group is an African American-owned and LGBTQ-owned web development and creative services company specializing in website design, graphic design, and content management systems.
Marc founded Tactile in 2004, initially specializing in graphic design for print media. However in 2008, Marc expanded Tactile’s offerings to include web development and content systems management. Today, he happily employs a team of 17 employees. Tactile’s target clientele are governmental entities, non-profits, large and small businesses. Most recently, Tactile has been able to launch Michael A. Nutter’s new website.
The Tactile has been a PIDC client since 2014 when they got a Working Capital and Equipment loan to help finance costs associated with a Department of Education contract. Initially, Tactile experienced difficulty accessing conventional financing but PIDC was able to offer Marc the flexibly he needed. As a result of Tactile’s successful performance, the Department of Education expanded Tactile’s scope of work and they were also able to secure several additional contracts. In 2015, PIDC was able to work with Tactile to secure a Contract Line of Credit to help cover cashflow on the expanded contracts.
Marc is a proud graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at the Community College of Philadelphia. Marc credits PIDC with helping him grow his business and return The Tactile Group to profitability. We look forward to seeing more exciting work from The Tactile Group in the future!
